How can we thank the staff of the Holland Christian Home for the excellent care my mom, Geneva Van Haste, received during her six and a half years as a resident? Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the love and support both she and I received during this time, especially during the past four months of her life.
The staff showed her love in so many ways and on her behalf, I send you our deepest thanks for making her life comfortable and happy. She truly loved the Home and had nothing but good things to say about everything and everyone. From Paulina who cleaned her room, to the Housekeeping staff who moved furniture for us, to the Maintenance staff who fixed her batteries and many other small jobs, to the devoted staff in Mountain View who gave me so much support during those last days, to the Office staff who helped me with her many bills, and to you too, who comforted me during some very difficult days. I can't thank you all enough for the love and devotion you show to all the residents who live at the Home.
I am also appreciative of the way the Office staff helped my mom's sister, who surprised us with a visit on the day of the viewing. They made her so comfortable by offering her the guest room and by giving her breakfast with my mom's old table-mates. She was truly impressed with all she saw and we were very grateful for your taking care of her for us. We were so glad she got a small taste of what mom's life was like at the Home.
Again, our deepest thanks for the wonderful care everyone showed mom. We will always be grateful she chose such a warm and loving place to spend her last years.
With warm regards,
Alice Struck
